What To Expect

What To Expect

Hopefully we have answered the "why" work with us! Now, let's address HOW we work together!

The short answer is, however YOU want to work with us! We are flexible, and it is all about being client-centered. At the end of the day, we want to use the best method to build a good relationship that will last.

The "What"

The "How"

The "Who"

Whether you work with Phillip, Nathan, or both of us, rest assured that you are always receiving our combined expertise. That’s because we operate as your Financial Care Team; each of us sharing full information about each client so that we can take care of your needs seamlessly, without interruption. Although you might only meet with one of us, each client case is collaborated upon jointly behind the scenes.

But it’s not just the two of us…behind the scenes, we partner with one of the largest broker-dealers in the nation to handle our “back office” needs. LPL Financial, we believe, has the size and efficiencies to serve our needs so that we can be effective in serving your investing and financial planning needs. On top of this, we partner with dozens of highly-rated insurance companies to be able to offer you competitive, quality coverage in all insurance-related areas.

Our goal in the end is simply to make sure you get excellent service and advice with each interaction you have with Sorum Financial. That is part of our pledge to give you big city advice in a small town atmosphere.

Our Team

The "Where"

Where do we meet you at? Well, the answer is, pretty much anywhere you want, within reason of course!

We can meet you in person or virtually. In-person appointments can take place at our office, but we also make house calls. So, if it is more convenient for us to come to you at your home, office or some other place of convenience, that is perfectly fine! We will also hold occasional appointments that are outside of office hours if your schedule requires it. Maybe you’ve embraced the digital age and prefer your appointments via video conference and/or document sharing via electronic transfer? Well, we can do that too!

When we finally have a chance to meet, our aim is to do so in a relaxed setting for you. That’s why we have an easy to access office instead of a big Class A office building in the city. At our office, you can pull right up to the door, come on in and grab a drink, and visit with us in our “non”-conference room where we feature comfortable chairs and many times a view of the Yak grazing outside our big windows!

Studies have shown in the past that many people would rather go visit the dentist than meet with a financial advisor! We don’t have any Novocain or laughing gas to put you out, but we like to think a visit with us can be quite enjoyable…much better than the dentist!

Our goal is simply to make sure you feel comfortable in whatever environment you choose to work with us in, so that you have an excellent interaction every time with Sorum Financial. That is part of our pledge to give you high touch AND high tech, all customized to the way you like to work with us.

Our Office

The "What"

When you decide to visit, we want to address what is important to you, and we don’t judge you on what financial shape you are in when you come to us. NO question is a dumb question, and we focus on YOUR priorities. Like we say in our tagline: YOUR Priorities / OUR Guidance! We position ourselves to serve almost all financial situations and provide most financial services you'll need. This allows us to let your specific needs guide how we serve you.

Initial visits usually last about an hour or so and are COMPLIMENTARY. That means NO cost to you and NO obligation on your part to do anything. If at the end of the initial visit, you think we are a couple of nuts who don’t know anything, you’ll never hear from us again! It is always up to you as to how our business relationship is driven.

During our visit, you can ask us any questions you want and have us look at any documents you might want us to look at (if you even want to bring documents at all). We’ll get to know each other and we’ll ask about your life story and financial priorities. At the end of the day, all we’re doing in this initial visit is to determine whether we have a basis for working together. We recognize that we aren’t going to be the right financial advisors for everyone, and we don’t want to force that fit.

Who We Serve

The "How"

During our initial visit, the question of HOW we do what we do often comes up, especially in terms of:

 - “How often do we meet?”
 - “How do you develop your recommendations?
 - "How is my money held?”
 - “How do we handle our accounts if something happens to you?”
 - “How do you get compensated?”
